There was a lot of pre production with the writer and actor of this short, Rosie Probyn. We discussed the look and feel of the scenes even to looking at what lenses to use for the happy flashbacks and sad and angry ones. From a warm vintage look to a colder contrasty look and the therapy scenes are all new glass, with contrast, clean looks and 3D pop.
We also discussed and had diagrams for the lighting and when Thomas came on board to direct, he was astounded with what we had and was happy to go in that direction.
A great shoot, pre planned and executed well. The only thing you can’t predict is the weather and we had rain and clouds for the majority of the shoot so lighting and problem solving came into action.
